The archeological excavation described in the above video by a team from Cambridge University from September, 2015 through July, 2016 yielded rich finds from two houses built on stilts over an ancient stream about 3000 years ago. The houses were apparently destroyed by fire, and their remains, along with their contents, sank into the stream, where they were covered with silt. This water-soaked environment has resulted in superb preservation, particularly of organic materials, like wood and cloth. In addition, numerous more durable artifacts like pottery, beads, bronze weapons and tools have been recovered. In the following years these objects promise to bring more understanding not only of the culture that existed in the bronze age in the Flag Fen area, but also living conditions throughout Britain during that period.
The site, which takes its name from the adjacent Must Farms Quarry, has also yielded in previous studies other important discoveries from the bronze age and other periods, including up to half a dozen dugout wooden long boats, a well preserved fish weir, and bronze and iron weapons.

Great! Always I stay astonished seeing how ingenious these people were thousands of years ago. Pity around here were not such conditions to conserve that amount of artifacts. Not far from Must Farm site I have found "prints" of a one-time mound group I mark here as gratis.(: (5 features are clearly visible on 12/2006 and 5/2007 imagery) Best, g mound group Whittlesey.kmz (715 B)

The new 3D imagery at the Must Farm site gives a much improved view over the imagery when this post was submitted, and worth a look if the topic interests you.
