Hello, thank you for this forum. I'm looking for a way to insert a direct link with gps coordinates in a text or a caption... So that the reader has just to click on to run google earth and see where the spot he's reading about is located... Does anybody know if it's possible ? Thank you for your helpful answer.

If I understand what you are saying, it should be rather easy. Simply create a placemark or other .kml content, and save it with the balloon open. Post the saved .kmz online, like in Drop Box or some other online storage service that can be accessed by a URL. Then create a link to that URL. The link should open GE and fly to the location. The balloon may closed in this process, especially if it has a lot of content, but if it does, the balloon may be opened by clicking on the placemark icon, or the icon in Temporary Places if it is some other kind of content. Click HERE for an example. HTML Code: <a href="https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/66820951/Placemark%20for%20crepitus.kmz">HERE</a>
BBCode [a href="https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/66820951/Placemark%20for%20crepitus.kmz"]HERE[/a]

Great! Glad it works for you. See HERE for tips on how to use the little-used power of KML to link between elements (placemarks, folders, overlays, etc.) within a single file.
