I used to have an account in the old Google Earth Community. Is it possible to remove my posts on those forums?? I have created this fresh account to get help on this. Please could a forum mod reply whenever you have a moment to spare? Thanks Do you want to add them in the new Google Earth Community, from the old community ??

Hi, Kiara, and welcome to the GEC. The old GEC was retired on 1 May 2015 and, although the mods and admins formed this forum to replace the old GEC, we now have no official connection with Google Earth or the old Google Earth Community. The old data was frozen; however you can still access and delete your old posts. Go to productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/gec select "Earth" and do a search on your old form username. It should find your old posts and allow you to delete them one by one. What it will not do, however, is to remove any little blue "i"s that your old post placemarks have made in Google Earth - these will remain in the Gallery Layer, and it is very difficult to arrange for them to be removed. You would have to approach the Google Earth people for that. Why do you feel you have to remove your posts? Cheers, Frank

Thanks for the quick response guys, I can see my posts but I cannot delete them. Can someone walk me through this? I am not very tech savvy. Pretty please. Hover over the 3 dots upper right in the post. The word " More" will appear. Click it and select " Delete" at the bottom of the drop down menu.

Ah. That might be a problem, then. What was your old Google Earth username? I've tried searching on Kiara489 and can't see any posts under that name.
Cheers,
Frank

I don't think it is now possible for old members to log in anymore. If you could PM me your old username and email address that was used in the oGEC, I will see what can be done, but to be honest it may be slim.

If Kiara had an account on GMAIL, GOOGLE +, or YOU TUBE, it might be worth a shot to log into one of those (or any Google Account). Of course, if she can't remember login details for oGEC, she probably can't for other accounts that she's not logged into.

Steve,
FWIW, I've done a couple of tests on the oGEC and it looks as if our Moderator superpowers are still active. I've been able to successfully delete both my own posts and other people's posts. Naturally this won't get rid of any blue "i"s generated by Kiara's placemarks, so if she's concerned about personal info contained in the placemarks we'll need to talk to Craig re doing a scrape, which could be difficult. If it's just the posts themselves, I don't see a problem.
Cheers,
Frank
