Interesting and addictive! Try this new satellite imagery search tool that can be put to good use by researchers, but is also a fun way to spend some time making earth art for yourself. Click on a grid square and it will search the city for similar imagery.
Five cities are available with many more coming soon. One example after a few minutes on Terrapattern, at the salt flats in the southeastern San Francisco Bay:
