Hi everyone! I'm new here and actually just looking where could I post a question concerning how to do something specific with Google Earth. I am not able to understand if and where this forum contains a place for help requests. The question is very specific and I already tried searching (google AND this forum) but to no avail. I am a hobby pilot living and flying in Switzerland. Here goes anyway my question. If I am OT, please excuse and send me to where it belongs. Is it possible in GE to show all areas below a certain altitude? I succeeded to show all areas above (with a polygon having an absolute height). But I would like to show the lowest "passes" in the Alps, for example. Can someone help me? Thanks for any hint. Best Regards Claudio

Hi Claudio, The best place to ask technical questions about Google Earth is on the Google Earth Help Forum (link at the upper right of this page). It never hurts to try here as well, although the answers are often not as reliable. What you did seems like it's on the right track, although I would have used the image overlay of a solid color, set the elevation at whatever cutoff I was interested in, and the opacity at a low percentage. It's not an ideal solution but the tinted areas will show you the low passes. And of course, you should know that Google Earth data is only approximately accurate and should never be used for actually navigation. Attachments:2500 m elevation.kmz (524 B)
