The Great War of 1914-1921 became known as the First World War, only after the commencement of the Second World War. The Canadian official history is told in the text: Nicholson, G. W. L. 1962. Official History of the Canadian Army in the First World War: Canadian Expeditionary Force 1914-1919. Queens Printer and Controller of Stationary, Ottawa, Canada.A project team of the Canadian Expeditionary Force Study Group undertook the task of creating a transcription of this work for use by fellow researchers, as at the time it was not available in a properly formatted version with all the sketches and maps. That resulted in the creation of the Nicholson Utility. Part of that project involved the placement of all of the maps used in the book into Google Earth Overlays. I have reloaded all of these with corrected links to the text in the book as part of this new topic. These are not done as SHOWS but as individual FILES. Each of the maps is properly placed and all that you need to do is to adjust the opacity of the image so you can see the overlay in the format you prefer. The files are in a shared folder and you can download them as a compete ZIP file or as individual files: Nicholson Map FolderNicholson Zipped Collection of Maps
