I found this airplane in later February and posted the coordinates to a number of friends. (29.783 32.209) They came back to tell me that there was nothing there. When I checked again a few days later, the plane had disappeared. It turns out that Google updated the image a couple of days after I had seen the plane. You have to go back to view Historical Imagery from 7/30/2013 The strange part about this plane is that it is a rather large two-engine aircraft, flying just meters above the desert floor and it casts a WHITE shadow. I hope that someone has an explanation for this.

Hi dicoll, welcome to the Google Earth Community.
Congratulations on finding your first Plane in Flight.
There are many Planes in flight on GE at any given time, and as you could imagine, as the imagery changes so do the number of captures.
It might appear that this plane is only meters off the ground but it is probably quite high, following a set flight path.
The "Shadow" is caused by the motion and speed of the plane and the effect from satellite pictures captured. It is quite normal.
Check out the Transportation Forum for a post called Planes in Flight and you can see many other finds that have been made into a collection.
Cheers.
