On the sixth of June, 1944 Canadian troops by-passed this observation bunker. They sent back three engineers on June 9th and blew the armoured door open. Two officers and fifty enlisted men surrendered, taking no casualties. The bunker was intended to control the fire of heavy batteries targeting the mouth of the Orne. www.museedugrandbunker.com/englishversion.aspObservation Bunker Ouistreham.kmz (935 B)

You can get a good view of the building from Google Earth Street View, with the V1 engine just visible. In the second image, moving along the street, you can see the whole V1 and a Landing Craft PA30-31. If I recall correctly, that was used in the movie "Saving Private Ryan".
