I found a Taiwanese flag on this Japanese island. I'm not sure if it's something computer created or a real flag. Why would someone do this?

The national ownership of this and nearby islands is such a hot button issue (extremely well known in the three countries involved), that I suspect you're just another guy trying to pick a fight. I apologize if you are genuinely naive. If that is the case, my best guess is that the blurry image (which shows up in all the Historical Imagery) was somehow hacked into the GE system. It certainly wasn't there the last time I looked. Nor have I seen it in any of the countless TV news reports I have seen. Despite all the images of Christopher Columbus knelling in the sand, flying a flag does not create national ownership. If that were the case, I reckon the US would own the moon, or this chunk of Japan, just a couple stone-throws from the monument that marks the place where the god from whom the Japanese emperors are descended, first arrived from the high plain of heaven. Edit: Looking again at the imagery, I see that the blurry flag is part of a 3D model, which will disappear if the 3D Buildings Layer is ticked off.

Thank you washi, that asnwers my question. Also I forgot to mention that the flag is part of the 3D model of the island ET_Explorer_Explorer.

definitely something is not in order with this GE data segment, ...but at least it looks cool!(: (all layers -except 3D Buildings- off)
