Three Soviet Mig-21's in Balchik, Dobrich Province

While searching something on internet, and discovered Baltchik, Bulgaria.

I decides to do some maps street viewing, and found these three retired soviet mig-21's

at Airport "Balchik"

Nice Find, ET.   The leading aircraft of the 3 is indeed a MiG-21 "Fishbed".   Note the delta wings.

The 2 trailing aircraft are both MiG-15 "Fagots", the first generation of MiG jet fighter. Note the swept wings and wing "fences"

For those unfamiliar, the names given in inverted commas are the NATO reporting names for the aircraft.  This system also gave an idea of the aircraft type - Fighters had a name beginning with "F", Bombers with"B", Commercial aircraft (or military cargo aircraft) with a "C".    A one-syllable name indicated that the aircraft referred to was propeller-driven, two-syllable names indicated a pure jet.  So you can see that for example, the "Coot" was a propeller driven airliner, the "Bear" a propeller-driven bomber and the "Foxbat" a jet fighter.
