I normally use Google Earth on my Windows PC and note that the imagery covering my home is dated 9/10/2006. My wife "excitedly" advised me that "the satellite has been overhead again" as she showed me imagery on her iPad that reflects numerous changes we've made (to the garden) since 2006.
This made me wonder how imagery is sync'd across different platforms.
I've always assumed that (unless you use the historical imagery feature) you always get the latest imagery.
As this doesn't seem to be the case, is there any way of manually "refreshing" GE Pro on my PC to get the latest imagery ?

Hi, also, as more places get 3D imagery, that may account for the differences you see. In Google Earth on the desktop there are three settings that need to be on to see the 3D imagery: - Tools - Options - 3D View tab - "Use 3D Imagery (disable to use legacy buildings)".
- "3D buildings" in the Layers panel.
- "Terrain" in the Layers panel if you are using Google Earth Pro.
You could try toggling the 3D imagery on and off and see if that makes a difference. You are probably seeing the 3D imagery on the iPad. The default imagery is not always the latest, sometimes if the latest available imagery is of low quality, too dark or low resolution, Google will use older imagery as the default.

Thanks for the replies, I deleted memory and disk cache which didn't make any difference.
However the 3D suggestion has highlighted the difference as turning on Photorealistic does appear to be based on a newer "underlying" satellite image (is there any way of dating this - the satellite imagery info vanishes in this mode ?). And having disabled "3D Buildings" on the wife's iPad it reverts to the old 2006 imagery.
Frustrating but still a great product !

Glad you got it sorted! No, they didn't include the date with the 3D imagery, which is a shame. You can send feedback about this via the option in the Help menu. One method of trying to date this imagery is described here: Processing 3D imagery.

Thanks, although most of these "issuettes" appear to relate to the 3D imagery being older than the satellite image. Can only assume that for some reason (quality ?) that haven't released the corresponding satellite imagery to go with the 3D view of my area.
