Back in November 2013 a film crew and some actors came to 29 Palms to shoot a low budget movie at 3 nearby locations. Because of my job I met most of them. One of the producers, Samantha Kern, invited me to come out to one location and be an "extra" in the movie. I accepted.
It was a blast. I spent an entire Saturday and half of Sunday out there. I was mostly just in the background. The scene was a party being thrown for one of the main characters. I was drinking "beer" (it was actually bottles of ginger ale that looked like beer. No alcohol on set. The whiskey was apple juice) and "talking" (actually pantomiming, no sound) to another party dude.
So for a very long time I've been dying to know if I'm in the movie. It's called Manson Family Vacation. It premiered at the SXSW Film Festival last March, but there hasn't been any clips or trailers of the movie at all. UNTIL NOW!!!
To my utter surprise and delight, I can clearly be seen in the new movie trailer. Here's a screenshot:
That's me on the far left.
The guy I'm patting on the back is one of the two main stars, Linas Phillips, who plays Conrad. The guy on the phone in the background is actor Tobin Bell, who you might recognize as Jigsaw from the Saw movies. Here's a shot of me and Tobin taken with my cell phone during a break:
The movie is coming out on Oct. 6th on iTunes and VOD. I can't wait to see it. Without further ado, here's the World Premiere of ME!
The kmz has the three filming locations that I know about. I'll do a more detailed post after I see the movie, and maybe add some locations. I was only at the placemark called The Party.
