Google Earth is very good at naming tiny islands in the world’s oceans. This tiny island is located in the Mediterranean Sea about 130 miles east of the Strait of Gibraltar and about equidistant North and South between the two continents. Google Earth does not have a name for it. This island has a couple of buildings and a road, as well as a protected port and a symbol of an anchor possibly carved into the stone. Google Earth names all small islands as well as many reefs but not this Island. What is it??

Hi and welcome, it is Isla de Alboran.
If you check the box in Layers>Gallery>Google earth community, you will find many marks of places found.
Thanks

Welcome fergywurst, Another way to check is to click on the "View in Google Maps" symbol at the far right of the row of buttons at the top right of the GE viewer. For a reason I have never been able to understand Google Maps is much better at naming rivers, small bodies of water, and some small islands. The maps view identifies both Isla de Alborán and also identifies the much smaller Islote de la Nube off its northeastern end.
