Seven people were killed when a vintage military jet crashed onto the A27 in Shoreham, Sussex, UK. The Hawker Hunter single-seat jet was built in the 1950s.  The Sunday segment of the show has been cancelled. Fourteen others on the highway were injured, one critically. 

The Hawker Hunter jet was flying a loop when it nose-dived about 1:20 p.m. local time...The plane struck several vehicles on the road, said CNN correspondent Ian Lee, reporting from the airport. The pilot was pulled from the wreckage and is in critical condition, ambulance personnel told CNN.

It is hard to believe that the pilot survived this crash.

Hmmm, maybe. I'm using the big white roof. Maybe the white building is on that 2013 construction site.     That would factor in a brown-roofed building on the right on GE. But, looking at the shot below, I can't find the double-chimney houses on GE.  Same for the Nissen hut in another shot on the BBC report.

Photo from BBC, which also states that more bodies may be found and that the pilot is "fighting for his life."

Just going through some of the old posts and saw this, the Hunter crashed between the two pins.
It went down just to the left of the traffic lights and if you look at the image dated 09/10/15 you can see a big brown patch of land with the road into the airfield still sealed off with a fence along the road stopping passing traffic see the crash site.
I normally go to this show and watch from near there luckly I could not make this one.

thank you Chris put this one right, luck you do browse also older posts (even in 'current events' subforum)! -had to wait a bit, but now we have precise, genuine local info also a good GE time stamp date aerial view for this sad event.
