Goodbye

I'm quitting as a moderator in this new forum. It's not for me. My heart belonged to the official Google Earth Community and this replacement just doesn't fill the needs that I have.

I'm so lucky to have met so many of you, some in person, and to count you as friends.

I will still be around - you can find me on Google Plus and on Facebook, so hopefully I'll get a chance to chat with some of you again.

I don't know if I'll be banned or just have my moderator status taken away, and I don't know if or when I'll return here. I wish you all the very best and thank you for your friendship.

We can still stay in touch Diane - I'm not turning my back on my wonderful friends, I just don't have what it takes to contribute to this forum anymore.

I have some wonderful memories of our times together, and those will always be precious to me......I'm just at the end of an email or on G+. See you there!

This is indeed sad news, you were the first old Mod I met up with, at your house. I do understand your reasons though and wish you all the best, you will be missed and I hope you continue to create the odd post for us.
Why would you be banned though? I will remove your Mod status at the weekend but keep the invite open to rejoin if/when you wish.

The forums here will certainly miss your awesome posts, kind words and expertize.
I can count myself as one of the most fortunate people as to have met you in person and hold that experience as a highlight of my life so far.
Your support and perseverance here has been one of the things that has kept me coming back to the GEC even in those dark days of the GEC on GG.
And as if the most wonderful moderators on the net would even hold any notion of banning you. On the contrary; they, as I, would love to have you pop in every now and again, if you have time, just to see what a part of you has helped grow since you joined all those years ago.
And having you on Facebook (not my favorite social media medium) is the only reason I took it up in the first place. I will still haunt you there.
I hope your endeavors that you have ahead of you are just as successful as you have been here as a TC and moderator as I am sure they will.
Just remember that your front door is no barrier to your desires. Your bravery has and will overcome many insurmountable obstacles and there will always be a hug waiting on the other side of the world if you ever find the time to visit.

I appreciate you keeping an invite open for me to rejoin - maybe I will some day!

Am a bit concerned that you've already removed my Mod status tho, as you said you would do it at the weekend, and as we're on the same time zone, I know it's not the weekend yet.

Please reinstate it till tomorrow at least as I'd like to see if anyone has posted to my private post - without mod access I can't see.

Thank you so much for your lovely words - I'm so thrilled that you were one of the people I was lucky enough to meet, and hope that we could meet again one day.

I feel like I'm shutting the door on an era, though I know it'll never be truly shut. But when the oGEC closed down, it affected me so sadly and I just want to draw a line under it.

I don't, however, want to stop chatting to my mates - I feel really bad that you joined FB because of me!! I am also on G+ so you can desert FB now if you want to 

I'm sure I'll come back here - maybe all I really need is a good long break from all things GEC.

Just want to give you a great credit for many things, helps etc. but surely most for being one of the great moderators letting me into and include me to the (now o) GEC.

Hello Sue! As saddened as I am to hear this announcement, I am even sadder for those new and old members who will no longer benefit from your generous guidance and jovial remarks, which has helped to make all versions of the GEC as user friendly, informative and entertaining as they can possibly be. Your guidance and patience has been a major influence in my continued involvement in these forms, and you're persistent wit and wisdom will be sorely missed.
I do hope you return one day to help further enlighten inquiring members as you have done with me, and I congratulate you on a job well done in the Google Earth community.

I'll miss you Sue. I've always admired and respected you as a mod and as a person.
