Looks very Alpine! I'd like to try it in a Porsche convertible- in both directions!

KF11111 (who made this video) thinks it will make us sleepy, but I think this is the ride you'd like to make. (Your twisty part begins about 9:28, I think. (Mrs. D can tell you if I've got the wrong road, I think.)

Here is a motorcycle video of one of the more exciting roads I've been over. I was on a kankō (tourist) bus. Even then it's a pretty exciting ride. (I am in awe of Japanese bus drivers!) I made the trip the other way, from the Ishikawa side, and we stopped about where this video begins, at the famous Shirakawa Village of old thatched A-frame houses.
NS, you'd know better than I where Craig could rent an o-tobai, but this ride looks more exciting, and is closer to where Mrs. D comes from.

Incredibly, Washi, the first video IS THE EXACT ROAD! You never cease to amaze! If you look at the first video at 9:23, you'll see this in this Street View image. You nailed it! By the way, in the second video, it's not shot on a motorcycle, it only has the sound of a motorcycle engine....bikes lean in corners, dip in brake zones, and nose-up in heavy acceleration which never happens. Perhaps this was a small car with a very small, motorcycle, engine?

I watched the "motorcycle" video until the end, and not only does the "motorcycle" reverse, but I caught a glimpse of its reflection in one of the street mirrors in a small town. It looks like a small square car, and I think it may actually be a "yellow tag" car, which means it has a 600cc motorcycle engine powering it.

Oh, and by the way, I've been working on a way to bring Blackjack (my self-modified '78 Porsche 911 SC) through the airport in my carry-on luggage so that I can drive it in Japan! I also figured that if I could shrink it down for the luggage, it would also fit Japan's really small roads better as well. Here's what I've been able to do so far. What do you think??

Wow, great road, although perhaps not on a Sporty! Well, just about a year ago, we started plotting the Rockies Trip. Wish we were doing it again this year...

Craig could now screw a carry handle to the roof of Blackjack and use it as a Carry On !

Ha! That's the plan! I spoke to Chie last night and she said that the yellow tag cars are call "K" for their licensing and small displacement (600cc). There is a stepped licensing system in Japan, so it's less expensive to get licensed and insured if you only drive the K cars. She said that mostly girls start with the K license, and that she didn't want to have that restriction so she went for the full license (which allowed her to drive the "white plate" larger displacement full-sized cars). Atta girl! When we were in Japan, I noticed that the "tuner" scene was pretty strong even in the K car category and I saw some really cool modified tiny cars. They looked like tiny mini-suvs. I'm pretty sure that's what was used in the second video Washi posted. Cars like this:

I remember seeing those mini-SUVs, they're so cute! Love the green one, looks like an old-school 1980s Dodge van. Wonder if there are mood lights in the back. I hope they are exporting them to the US, because even in my strange town I see Smart Cars. Anyway, that road looks like something I'd try on the back of a bike.
