If you are tired of finding a pebble in millions of pebbles then try finding these balanced rocks. These are neither at the beach nor in the polar circle where such cairns are quite common. [Click on image for larger view] Inside (Yellow dot) View please!

Time to give a clue; These are neither at the beach nor in the polar circle but are in; middle Earth and it has nothing to do with middle Earth in JL's post (see note below) Edit note: I was unaware of this post by JL and came to know about it only after posting my clue. The location in this post has no connection with location in his post.

Equator? but that's 40k km long... C'mon ndrqu you don't have to travel all the 40k km, use your deductive skills. Observe the image in OP and remember it is a yellow dot and not blue-lined GSV.

one of the problems with such orange dots is, you have to go close, very close to finally see them... i know i could enter an orange dot in GE a few days ago (something not possible for monthS) but, this one, i cannot see it in GE, only in nGM (in GE i can enter it only because i know the location thanks to nGM)

Well done ndrqu and Krenek Sorry johnluke for not giving clue to to precariously balanced ball. I have done it now. As regards finding these Balanced Rocks here is another clue/hint for every one who hasn't found these stones yet. I am sure by now you know where is middle Earth I am referring to. There are not many places in the middle Earth where on can find; white thing on the ground shown in OP (and I am not referring to the clouds! ). As per Google search there are only 3 such places in the World. Out of these only one has the orange dots. If orange dots are not visible then try searching in Google for <Name of Place> + Google Street View.

"Tired" is not the word, because I didn't spend much time on it. But after searching "pebbles" and "rocks" in 360 Cities, there isn't much else I can do... As to these balanced rocks of yours, thanks for the clues, but Google isn't helping at all, and I've seen no orange dots so far. I'll have to wait for the last clue, you know, the one that is "almost the answer".

You can't find it by searching "pebbles" and "rocks" in 360 Cities. You have to search for places which are in the middle Earth and have; snow There are not many such places and out of these places only one place has those yellow dots. If you cannot see the yellow dots in the maps then you will have to follow the tip I gave earlier. I am highlighting it now in red. As per Google search there are only 3 such places in the World. Out of these only one has the orange dots. If orange dots are not visible then try searching in Google for <Name of Place> + Google Street View. If you are still having difficulty in identifying middle Earth then; "middle Earth" is same as "middle of Earth"

That puzzle is a 360 cities and you said "if you are tired" of that puzzle etc., and I said, "Tired is not the word" etc.

In any case I hope that you will atleast find these Balanced Rocks. As regards the Pebbles in the 360 cities I really got tired of searching for those pebbles and have given up the search.

Only 3 answers in 586 views. I never realised that this one will turn out to be so difficult. Well done ndrqu, Krenek and Walter. The answer is; The mid-earth obviously is the Equatorial region and only few peaks in this regions have ice. These are namely Chimborazo, Mount Stanley, Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya. Of these only Mount Kilimanjaro has Google Inside Views. As per Google's Street View page about " The World's Highest Peaks" there are six yellow dots at Kilimanjaro and one of these has these balancing stones. The last Rebus clue points to "Arrow Glacier" where these stones can be found. Actual view can be seen in this GSV.

If this makes you feel better, I actually found it last night on my phone using your last clue (which really is the answer!), but didn't feel up to turn on the comp again, so I thought I'd wait until the next day, but.. too late! Oh well. I "clicked" the map view with my finger, and there I was in the right area, moved forward two or three times and there were the stones. I slept like a baby. Which makes me think: that wasn't an orange dot, it must have been a blue line. But it looks like the same image, with the same guy in it. I had thought about Africa, although I was sure it was in South America (maybe because there's a country there called "Ecuador", and the French word for that country is the same word as the French for "equator". Middle earth, made sense. ) Also, I have a question: is there a way to make the equator appear in GMSV? Because your puzzle sort of implied to go back and forth between GMSV looking for the orange dot and GE looking for possible areas around the equator. That's what put me off very quickly.
