The life-size sculpture depicts the haughty, evil Mephistopheles back-to-back with the gentle, meek-looking Margaretta. The sculpture is carved out of a single log of sycamore wood. It is the most-photographed sculpture at the Salar Jung Museum in Hyderabad, India.
It is located in the European Paintings Section on the First Floor of the Western Block of the Museum. GSV |
