Stutthof was the first concentration camp set up outside of Germany. (Dachau was established in 1933.) Stutthof was also the last camp to be liberated on May 9, 1945 by Russian forces. The camp was initially concerned with the liquidation of Polish elites; only later in 1943 did it become part of the 'Final Solution'. It is estimated that between 63 and 65 thousand victims died here. The camp had 40+ sub-camps. Stutthof KZ.kmz (2.43 KB)
