Good day all - thank you for taking a moment to read. There is a story documenting Olive McLeod - from 1911 - where she travels to the interior of Africa to track down her fiancé. Brad Rica wrote: Olive the Lionheart www.amazon.com/Olive-Lionheart-Imperial-Womans-Journey/dp/1250207010There is a moment where the intrepid traveler Olive ends up visiting a location in the modern country of Chad - where the locals believed it was Noah's home. Noah from a Biblical reference. While this is fascinating - I am trying to locate this area - described as near Lake Chad. I would love some help trying to locate this structure. Here are some photos I have found: wikimedia map JPEGAlamy photo link1This is the location claimed to be Noah's home. Alamy photo link2Olive's photo from inside the 300 foot high area. Hi and welcome to the board!
I believe these eroded volcanic basalt rocky outcrops are gonna be the so called "Rocher des éléphants" (Elephant Rock) formation at Hadjer el Hamis, around coordinates >>12.86093, 14.84058<<, some 28 kilometers eastwards of the Chari River delta, 10 kilometers from the recent southern shorelines of Lake Chad.
Check 'Photos' and 'Places' layers by the location on desktop Google Earth for further reference! ( ;
Have a nice day!
Keep up the good search! ( :
