I was checking out the international airport in Keflavik, Iceland, and I am curious about the 13+ black plane silhouettes seen on the tarmac. I visit many airports on Google Earth and have never seen these before. Any ideas?

Please send a placemark and a picture. Then we'll see.

I think that he is referring to the plane silhouettes at the tarmac at 63°59'40.56" N 22°37'24.38" W
. . Has that something to do with de-icing?

Correctly. Probably caused by airplane washing.

I thought about the de-icing possibility, because of the excessive need at airports in far northern environments. I checked other airports such as Oslo, Norway, Nome, Alaska, etc. To date, I have not found this silhouette effect elsewhere.
I noticed that all of the planes and plane silhouettes are lined up on tarmac markings. Assuming de-icing, I see two patterns that confuse me. First, 4 or 5 of the silhouettes have obvious squared off wing tips. Second, if you search out de-icing videos, they show the entire fuselage being de-iced. However, in every silhouette, the outline of the fronts of the fuselages are not seen.

I now believe that the de-icing theory may be correct. Upon further study, I just realized that the black silhouettes are date dependent. I went to the historical imagery time slider, and all but one image had no visible black silhouettes. The other image with black markings is on 3/4/2019, and the black silhouettes have different shapes, and locations on the tarmac.

Yes, it's simply leftover water on the ground.
