I have recently completed a 4-year mapping project using Google Earth to create the most comprehensive map of North Korea publicly available.
The file is huge with 53,722 places covering every conceivable topic. There are 9,567 military sites, 8,859 markers representing 9,879 individual monuments, and 35,296 domestic/economic sites. Due to the size of the combined file (nearly 4.8 MB), don't click on the main folder to show every single item. It may crash Google Earth and will cause things to be very sluggish. Simply expand the main folder and whatever sub-folders you're interested in and click on those.
The map contains every anti-aircraft artillery battery (including approximately 500 that haven't been mapped by any public project or website), prison camp, hydroelectric dam and electrical substation, every palace, all identifiable schools and theaters, and much, much more.
Since Proboards limits the size of files to 4 MB, and because the full #AccessDPRK file is 4.8 MB, I have separated out the military sites into one file and domestic/economic sites with monuments into a second file.
Each file is broken down by province. The "Military" file also includes separate files on the DMZ and airports. The "Domestic and Monuments" file has an "additional items" folder with things like border crossings and mountains. Each province is divided into two main folders: monuments, and domestic. Pyongyang and Ryanggang has three main folders. The main folders are further subdivided according to item type (AAA, dams, factories, etc.). On average, the military folder has 20 smaller item folders and the domestic folder averages 43 item folders.
This project includes everything that was part of North Korea Uncovered (2009) and Google Earth user "Planeman_" military file. I went through and updated/corrected them and then incorporated the roughly 9,000 places into my larger overall project.
To learn more about the specifics and also read about the various things I've found, check out my blog MyNorthKorea and you can visit my personal site www.JacobBogle.com
*****This contains all of the military sites (over 9,000 places)*****
AccessDPRK Military Sites.kmz (1.18 MB)
*****This contains all of the domestic sites, economic sites, and monuments (over 44,000 places)*****
AccessDPRK-Domestic-Monuments.kmz (3.57 MB)
I intend to release updated version of the map from time to time. If you find any errors or omissions, or can identify or provide the name of a school, "building of interest" or anything else, please let me know! Things like this only work ultimately if people work together and share their knowledge.
Below are some images showing what's included in the map.

Detail of new hardened artillery sites
Centuries old forts in North Hamgyong Province
