No CJ, I'm afraid all the bookmarking will do, is send you emails of every post you've bookmarked and will not show up any new posts in any given forum you're interested in. The 'Participated' looks good because you can see any new updates that you have already participated in. But, there doesn't seem to be a workaround to see new posts...

Have just discovered a tiny flaw in the forum software's censorship! It's ****. So if your name is ****, there may be a tiny problem. Of course, you can't help it if your name is **** - afterall - it's not your fault your parents named you ****! However ****, from now on, we'll just have to call you Richard...

Just a small remark: Not all my posts are listed under the "Participated" button.
I noticed new replies on "Red Ladder" and "Post it Note #1" that are not mentioned under "Participated".

Your posts are not listed and shown as participated until someone replies to them. It is not about a post of my own. It's about a challenge where I replied. E.g. in The Red Ladder, my reply was number 4 out of more than 10 now. EDIT: I checked all my posts against the list under "Participated" and noticed that this list only contains my replies from April 10 and later. Everything from April 9 and earlier is ignored.

Go to Previous or Next ThreadPresently the Go to Previous or Next Thread is accessible via a sub menu of "Actions" > "Go To" and the select Previous or Next Thread. If possible would love to see it as part of main menu bar. Perhaps left and right pointing arrows (adjacent to "Actions" Button) duly hyper-linked to Previous or Next thread. Good Comment CJM - I have asked about this as well - I have Drawn attention to your post in my post

There should be a Moderator Selected section in the forums, for those Awesome Posts that stands out among the others.

I was wondering whether the "Start Here > Forum Rules, How to and Help", could be reorganize so that it would better assist members to acquaint themselves with the community. Instead of being mixed up, like below >

Very basic placemarks and post help
Forum Rules *Please read*
How to create a post.
How to report a post
Help creating advanced placemarks
How to share your or anyone's post on Social Media.
Advice for New Members (Seer's Guide)
==========================================
But instead of being mixed up, how about having it like this :

For those of us on the slow side, it would be helpful if you could explain in detail why you think the present order of presentation is "mixed up," and why precisely you think the order you have suggested would be more helpful to new members. To me, it looks pretty darned good, much more helpful than when I first caught the Google Earth bug

I have an idea about F&G's?
Since the main purpose of fun & games, is to find things on Earth.
Could it be also used to find things in Sky, such as Galaxies, Nebula's, Quasars etc.
Because I Know in the olden days (Old BBS Community) some posters posted puzzles
that pertain to Sky, rather than Earth.

Don't see why not, ET. As you say, it's been done before and as long as they are features of Google Earth, then that shouldn't be a problem.

Hi, I now see that sub-forums "Members' Personal Locations" and "Experimental and Temporary" suddenly are no longer hidden from non-members and most likely being public indexed. I think this is a big problem and against the nature and intention of this type of forum, like GEC member Hill describes in this thread I hope this is temporary and a result of some missed coordination. If sub forums like that should be of ANY use, it should be forum members ONLY and totally off searchable. If this public status continues ongoing I will sure consider removing all personal content from these sub forums. edit 2015-05-18: seems like sub-forum are back to member only viewing :-).

I noticed that one can block members, not the staff?
Is this blocking feature work the same way like that on Facebook, and Google+?
Thanks,
ET

Hill's Beautiful Earth thread now has over 500 views, but it's not a 'Hot Topic.' Does anyone know how many hits a thread takes before it is? This thread alone has over 989 1000 views. It's probably at the default number at the moment. Not important, just curiosity on my part of how things work and because I've got nothing better to do.

I am curious as to why guests can't view downloads, is it because of server costs or potential overload? I would like to share some of them with my friends on other sites.

Hi, and just please notice the hidden jump-to menu which can often ease the navigation. The translate button previously interfered with it and was blocking its appearance until today. The clash has been removed during an update in the Proboards forum last night (European night) and when we reapplied the translate feature to this forum today.

Introductions (Introduce Yourself)
I think this community should have, (at least) in this open forum have a sub-forum
for new members to introduce themselves. I belong to a lot of communities on
the web that has an introduction.

I agree Bryan; this is a feature of many forums. It wouldn't cost anything, it would be quite easy to implement and it would be a familiar starting point for people who have just joined.
What do you think, Admins?
Cheers,

Add descriptions under each forum, this feature is only shown in guest mode, but not in member's mode (logon)
Also update the " Art & Literature Forum" to Art, Design, & Literature ". Design like, architecture.
Thank you.

Art-Design-Literature-Architecture-..... These are controversial subjects and conclusions to the discussions within the societies (if any conclusion has been reached, at all) vary from one country or region to another. For instance design is not an art for some people while some think the reverse. Some (like myself) think the answer depends on the conditions.
We tend to shorten headings not only to lower down the number of letters used but also to be inclusive in a way not to engage in such discussions. With the term "art", we mean anything "creative" which includes designs. What about uncreative designs?.... I don't think we are interested in them. If any such info is to be posted, its correct place is the Earth Browsing forum.
However, mods will discuss and review this again.
Thank you for raising up the issue.

I would like to see Fun & Games Forum to have a sub-forum called "Fun & Games Mars". Members can find places on Mars, as they would on Earth. The settings would be little different (Status Bar would be disabled) not to show coordinates. Learn things about Martian Geography, just like Earth Geography. The image below shows what settings are disabled and what is enabled. One of the sources of Martian Geography is >> HERE <<
