Two handsome Grønlandshunds in Kujalleq Municipality, Greenland. These are reported to be big, heavy dogs weighing up to 100 lbs. and are genetically identical to the Canadian Eskimo dog. Both are descended from the Siberian Husky. The renowned Norwegians, Fridtjof Nansen and Roald Amundsen, used Greenland dogs in their polar explorations. Source
Yesterday, I saw an old dog and an old man hobbling along a street downtown. I rarely look at SV in my hometown, but while doing just that today, I saw them as they were last year. They both looked quite a bit worse when I drove by them yesterday.
It's a gorgeous dog, maybe a Malamute mix. The man sports a long, white beard. Soulmates.
I had four or five Photobucket albums of pictures (thousands of them), which, as you know, can no longer be linked to. However, I just found that, for some reason, I copied album #3 to my HDD years ago - smaller versions of the original pictures, but still ... As luck would have it, the two images of my post of Dec 2, 2016, are in this collection. At the time I tried to locate the site in SV in order to restore the post, but I never found that streetcorner again. Now I can present a reprise of the catwalk show.
