So, deep in the heart of the Libyan Desert I found this place: 25°58'19.99"N 13°18'43.24"E It does not really matter where you look around here. Anywhere you look inside the box really. Even outside the box. You are going to find ruins everywhere. So what was it's name I wonder? Is it an abandoned section of the nearby town? Or something lost to time? There are fields, forts, buildings and roads everywhere. I have found in the past week that finding those little arced complex dunes is a good thing. They seem to form where a town once was. So, that might be helpful to people. Here is the general area:

I think these are might be related to the mysterious lost civilisation of the Garamantes. Check links and attached kmz in this thread! I have not spent much time on it, but really remarkable as their fort- and settlement network stretches around the edge of the Murzuk desert. Probably some of our Sahara expert members ( chriss , tafrawti or siggi ) could tell more about these. (?) (My Garamantes concept is maybe totally mistaken.) ...
