more clues Although I mention Indiana Jones, he was never in this other city
This city was invaded by a very powerful enemy, but the monoliths do not necessarily are from the invaders
Yes, most of the recent Monolith puzzles are related culturally and geographically, except "the origin"

I am impressed JohnLuke, but I will try to stay away from the smartphone as possible, I already spend an awful amount of time in it. Final clue: It is the city with the most amount of "monoliths" found so far, above 110

Final clue: It is the city with the most amount of "monoliths" found so far, above 110 You're right, but I spend so much time on my comp working from home these days, that at the end of the day I don't always feel like staying on the comp. So I find myself somewhere else in the house and sometimes I look at my phone, and sometimes F&G. And I sometimes solve the puzzles and don't post the answer because it does take more time and effort on the phone, it's more complicated. I use the Google Lens on my phone and find a lot with that, but I can only post one or two answers, after that I'm done. I found the chess one 1 mn after it was posted. And the balancing one, etc. I can't post them all. Or I'd be on the comp all day and all night! There are many I can't find too, like the two headed thing. Reverse image or keywords didn't give any results. I'd be happy to know how the others found it.

Yes, similar but in the opposite way, trying to avoid being on the cellphone by getting into the computer, that's why I returned to F&G, had been using only the smartphone too long. I tried to avoid purchasing my first blackberry because I knew I would be hooked, and hesitated a long time before arriving into the smartphone world because of the same fear, but being on the road part of the worktime forced me. I would love to have access to Walter's and Krenek's search logs to know what keywords they use I am really puzzled as all the people that arrived at the red monolith, it doesn't have a popular name and is not the main feature in the city. Cheers

Only if you are familiar with the place, otherwise just the image of the red monolith won't take you far, I tried "red monolith maya" for example and it never showed me that specific stela, but the one in the wall that is not a monolith in Palenque. Not even "red stela Maya" yielded any picture.

Saddly, time for the answer Very very complicated history most of the city/states in the Maya area were constantly in war with almost everybody else.
The two mayor players in the Classic era were the one in the "rebel base" puzzle and this city, the "Kingdom of the Snake", they took turns invading each other, but at the end this city was defeated. The monoliths are called Stela (plural- estelae) and are monuments erected to commemorate an important events (rise to the throne, battles, royal visits or end of a cycle -a Katun 20 years for example).
This city is now called Calakmul (two hills) because the forest engulfed everything and the locals just knew there where two huge hills in the area. Calakmul is known for the largest number of stelae found, about 118 so far. The picture for the puzzle are part of the stelae in front of Structure II the tallest/larger in the area.
