A beautiful, inspiring place, but it would be quite dark without the shaft of light from above. Many Blue Dots to choose from.

Good job, everyone! For anyone still looking..... This Royal pavilion was built 130 years ago. The light from outside comes through a hole in the overhead rock ceiling. The 430 meter climb is not for the out of shape.

Nice work, everyone! The Khuha Karuehat royal pavilion is in the Tham Phraya Nakhon cave, Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park in Thailand. King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) ordered the construction of this pavilion to commemorate his visit to Phraya Nakhon Cave on June 20, 1890.
This pavilion was built by 200 craftsmen from Bangkok, who were transported to the cave. The king himself opened and named the pavilion Phra Thinang Khuha Kharuehat. The pavilion is 2.55m wide, 8m long and 2.55m high. It last underwent restoration in 1988.

jesusmx - A few years ago I went to Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park and had the intention of visiting the cave to see the sala. However, we arrived a little later than planned and there wasn't time to climb the steps, see the cave and get back to the beach to take our boat back. After chatting with a few wobbly-legged, exhausted tourists trying to recover from the climb, it might be a good thing I didn't try. My left knee doesn't appreciate it when I climb more than 3-4 flights of stairs! I would love to see the pavilion as well as the natural beauty of the cave.
