There was a conspicuous giveaway in the audio file, and after editing it I couldn’t insert it where I wanted it to be in the post, and so I start again. So sorry. [filelink type="mp3" href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RqZzk7Y_7hVG1Cmp-yVHMJSwjQuB-l0o/view?usp=sharing"]Mystery[/filelink] Come again? (That’s better.) SV image please. Good luck!

Previous ‘Come again?’ topic deleted. Here is half a clue: The name is the name of the village. But you suspected that, I think. There will be a real clue later.

A real clue: To narrow it down geographically, I can tell you that it’s not in Ireland, Scotland, Isle of Man, Cornwall or Brittany.

My attempt to 'translate' the audio was a miserable failure, but correctly assumed the region. I thought I had checked every church in the area. Started again today with better success!

i now know where the mystery.mp3 file comes from! (before that, i listened to it slower and faster too, not only reversed!...) very good idea but i would never have understood the mp3: what i read and what i ear, it's another planet for me!
plus, i'm not sure about the meaning of "come again"... pretty upsetting: g***.org.** (a very big help in such searches) lists 2 pictures of that building but the main keyword is not mentioned!!!!

I knew about this small village because I visited it a long time ago. Then, as now, there was nothing special to see. And yet Wikipedia has two longish articles about it.

Time for a final clue: The village is known for its links to myth, legend and folklore. Stories tell of a long succession of famous doctors who were based in the parish from the 13th century onwards. Some of their manuscripts, collections of medical advice, were published in the 1860s.

Mr Lockhopper got the full brunt of my frustration. I knew I had 'been there' on my war memorial project. So frustrating, then along came the last clue and ping!
There it was with a war memorial placemark. I am off for a lie down Brilliant challenge x

Well done all! The name of the village is Myddfai. It’s in Wales, on the northwestern edge of a wonderful National Park named the Brecon Beacons. The doctors mentioned in a clue are known as the Physicians of Myddfai. Coordinates of the church (St. Michael’s): 51.9561°N, 3.7880°W.
