'The Irishman' is a recent Netflix film dealing with the life, times and death of James (Jimmy) Hoffa, head of the Teamsters Union. Martin Scorsese directed the film which culminates in Hoffa's disappearance in 1975. Theories abound regarding his death and his body has never been recovered. This version depicts Hoffa being stood up at a proposed meeting at the Machus Red Fox restaurant. According to the film Hoffa was taken to 17841 Beaverland Street where he was murdered by Frank Sheeran (The Irishman), a trusted bodyguard. This account of the many Hoffa stories has him immediately cremated, hence no body to recover. The location of Hoffa's body has become legend; a friend of mine who is on unexploded ordnance recovery duty in Sweden tells me that often the crew will joke about the latest metal detector reading as 'Hoffa's body'.
