There's about 1500 square km of parallel lines in the desert. (red area kmz) Any idea (maybe oïl prospection, but little trace of that ) ?

Hello... anybody around behind the screen ? I see this thread viewed 49 times, but no comment. Is it of such vulgarity that no one dares share findings ? I know its not very exiting to find parallel line in the desert over an area of 1500 square kilometers, but there's no house, tree or crops for tens of miles, it's not irrigation nor pipipelines, been there for several years, and if they were, they would be connected to some sort of pump or machinery... so what is it ? Can anyone answer, and if not suggest an idea in proportion to his/her imagination? Thanks ?

Hi! When I first heard about the drainage system in the israeli desert just instantly took a look to the Egypt-Israel borderline on GE from high altitude and been so surprised to see that the sand has a remarkably darker tone on the israeli side. (It is not about different imagery sets, just check time slider by any setting.) Resolution is not as good to see smaller details of equipment but similar paralel (and not paralel) lines can be seen all around there too which can be drain pipeline paths. Not sure at all, but these are also can be signs of some kind of Anti-Desertification process. Still waiting for someone to validate... Best, g drain system Israel.kmz (1.14 KB)

Your explanation seems plausible. To the north of the area in Egypt looks as if there are fields within squares. The parallel lines cut across the features of the terrain.

looks partly as the rest of harder(stone) material , the rest is blown away by the sand sometimes it looks like tracks of a fourwheeler looking for something he has lost (maybe a meteorite) & now cruising in exact lines to find it

I found similar parallel lines in Algeria, near the In Amenas gas plant. I was curious after seeing them from the air on a flight to Africa. 27 44.811 8 56.665 27 25.183 8 54.105 28 34.582 9 50.572

They are exploratory tracks made in a systematic pattern for some sort of find.
And welcome to the nGEC.

And welcome to the nGEC. @theledge if you have an explanation, you need to provide some kind of proof, otherwise state clearly that is just your guess. Thus, I can see no explanation so far. I found similar feature (started other thread not knowing this one was already here - thanks for pointing that out: googleearthcommunity.proboards.com/thread/4546/explanation-dozens-perfectly-paraller-afrika). Just imagine how much work and precision was required to make these lines!

...Just imagine how much work and precision was required to make these lines!... in the age of AI, how far do you think anything cannot be done in the blink of an eye, where money smells in the air? these lines are examples (for me) of the situation modern-man lives these days, I just wandered today morning: that up till now men, who had enough money brought decisions, today we live in the age of money when no man's choice, how to spend their money, but money's choice, where to be invested. "how much work and precision was required", and how much money was invested only in the hope of a bigger money, whilst millions of people are starving exactly all around?! Really is amazing... filsdabeille's hunch as TL's opinion both still I like and makes me vote for 'exploratory tracks' concept. (still keep an eye on thread, waiting for some valid data on exact sites)
