Hudson River Anomaly on the New Jersey side of the river, north of the George Washington Bridge about 50 yards north of the Alpine Boat Basin, there is a black hole or sink hole. Coordinates are 40 degrees 56 feet 54.03 inches north 73 degrees 55 feet 05.46 inches. Has anyone else seen this or can explain it?

Hi, and To Google Earth Community In this Community, we use what is known as placemark which in-turn becomes a kmz file. Simply using coordinates won't do since its old fashion and doesn't serve any purpose in this community. Since this community is design to use kmz file(s) which in-turn are the placemark(s) that you created on GEarth, GMars, or GSky. >>> HERE <<< Is a tutorial of how to create a placemark.

Hello hudsonhiker, and welcome This is a terrain error, they are not that unusual. Some years ago one of our members put together a compendium of data errors. It's not up to date any more, but it makes interesting reading. The original thread with a downloadable file is here: Data Problems Compendium. There are some samples in this post. If you turn on the 3D imagery, the problem is not there, so I doubt it will be corrected now. Coordinates are fine, but it helps if you provide them in a format that can easily be copied and pasted into Google Earth. On Windows, press ctrl-shift-C to copy the coordinates under the mouse pointer to the clipboard.
