Near Clermont, Florida is a Dragon-shaped complex of marshes known as Flat Lake. The sections are further named from head to tail: Buddy lake, Flat Lake, Little Flat Lake, and East Lake. From month to month it greatly changes from appearance depending on when the image was taken. During times of greater rainfall it's usually connected complete with fire coming from it's nose. During drier periods the marshes are separate and mostly dried up resulting in a skeletal appearance. The changing water level can be seen with historical imagery, it's particularly high around 2005 and low in 2007. If one looks closely to the east of it there are bright areas in some fields giving the appearance of "wings". These are small sand ridges about 10 to 15 feet high. I have visited the shores of the extreme northwestern tip of it and it's beautiful with rolling grassy hills and trees. Most of the shore is owned by neighboring Orange County and Orlando for a utility project known as Water Conserv II, the northern third is rural housing, and a tiny area on the northwest shore is part of the Hartwood Reserve neighborhood. I hope they never bulldoze this amazing work of art. Flat lake.kmz (9.26 KB)

Wow, that's very cool, shadowdragon! You've got your own logo on GE and some great information about the area, too.
