I might as well post this now. I want to proudly add that I found this on my phone before ndrqu posted the last clue, by googling some words of the first clue. Do not think you're going to escape my now usual question: if you didn't know of this before, how could you find it? Nothing in the image indicates anything that the clues mention. I don't think "dark tunnel that looks like it's from a Mad Max movie" would work in Google...   |

Solution: This tunnel is the only terrestrial way to connect the city of Whittier, Alaska, with the rest of the main roads.
The puzzle was intentionally designed to be hard before the hints. Knowning the place would have been very helpful, for sure. But still, there is a way to make this tunnel show on Google Image with no magic or previous knowledge involved
How? you can see in the picture that there are train rails under the cars, so it's a tunnel for cars and trains.
Searching for tunnel cars trains on GI returns the correct result at the 18th row (tunnel viewed from outside, hard to notice), and the tunnel viewed from the inside (easier to notice) at the 21st row. |
