If anyone is interested, the water marked images in my .kmz files will soon be deleted. You can have a quick last look at my Links file by downloading it HERE.

I decided to cave to Photobucket and pay the 100 bucks needed to keep my KMZ files useable, although I have no evidence that anyone but me ever uses them. Once I had done that, I discovered that many of the images in the Links file still had the PB watermark, which necessitated figuring out why and rewriting the image links. Spot checking the files themselves, most (I've only found one watermark so far) seem ok, so my next step is to work my way through them, weeding out dead links and restoring viable ones.
If anyone is interested, perhaps I should explain that while the Links file doesn't appear to fit into any of the premade file types, it is actually a Folder with a redefined icon, into which 3 other similar Folders have been placed, and links have been established which allow the user to move between the window displays of all 4. I hit upon this odd solution out of two priories: 1) to keep content out of the old GEC Layer and 2) to make my files accessible to people who were not logged on members of the GEC.
I have long been a believer in the value of Google Earth to present longer narratives in which understanding can be enhanced by cartographical perspective, the kind of files of which the work of LuciaM was an inspiration. My own interests often called for Overlays and other file types which would not be displayed in the GEC Layer, or if they were, would be meaninglessly out of context, and therefore mere clutter. I also believe in the value of being able to offer users the opportunity to load optional related content from within a file, something which I suppose is still difficult to do using content available only from the GEC Forums.
Having reached the Four Score mark, I'm not sure how much time I have left to bring my stuff up to snuff, but if you have suggestions about errors which need to be corrected or changes which would make it more useable, please let me know.
