It's been ages since I have followed the Google Earth Community, let alone posted anything, but I discovered something today that I think is quite wonderful. I realized a long time ago that there is very little audience for the kind of complex historical .kmz files that I enjoyed making, but I am still a daily user of Google Earth. One thing I often do is browse my beloved Eagle Cap Wilderness Area in Northeast Oregon. A few days ago I had downloaded the 1954 USGS topographical map .kmz and was examining the old trail through the beautiful east fork of the Lostine River hanging glacial valley, and was examining the site of the shelter cabin that been pulled down not long after my first few trips into the area. I could see no evidence in the regular view of the cabin ever having been there, but I decided to drop to ground view to have a look. By sheer luck, I hit a photo sphere. (I say luck, because most of the marks in GE are very hard to see, and I spent a half hour trying to find it again.) The marks are much easier to see in Google Maps, and I've had a good time visiting all of them.
Today, I moved out of the high country, and was looking around those around Wallowa Lake, when I found one by Austin Kleinberg that absolutely blew me away! The only way I could guess such a photosphere could be made was from a drone. I don't know anything about piloting a drone, but it would seem difficult to keep one in the same place to get all of the photos to paste into the software to create a spherical image. Let me know if you have a better idea.

I was unable to attach a 10 kb file, and then a 1 kb file. If you want to see the file, you can download it HERE.

Welcome back washi . Good to see you here again. I always have difficulty navigating the Google Street Views in GE. I prefer GM for GSVs, especially in finding the bluedots of photospheres. For those who also have difficulty finding the bluedots in GE, here is the GM link to the amazing photosphere referred to by Washi. goo.gl/maps/qBPkZh6Ygjja5yDi7

Using the Movie Maker tool, I made a video of this placemark to post on Facebook.
Because I have so many memories of the whole Lostine River, I made another video of the trip up the canyon, all the way to the old shelter cabin site and the first photo sphere I found.
I often use the tool to make segments of videos. It helps the folks back home have a sense of where the other scenes were shot. If other people use the tool as much as I do, "Using the Movie Maker Tool" might make an interesting thread, or even a whole forum.
