Every year at the beginning of March in València everything revolves around the festivities for the
Fallas, a festival in which tradition, satire and art are combined.
The daily highlight is a spectacular daytime fireworks display, called
La Mascletà, which is set off at 2 p.m. on the town hall square.
Firecrackers lined up on long wires explode every second and ignite a symphony of thundering rumblings, bangs and whistling hissing tones. Here, emphasis is not only placed on volume (120 dB!), Rather it is up to the pyrotechnician to make the rhythm and dynamics of the Mascletà as appealing as possible. Watch the video !
Good pyrotechnicians are celebrities in Valencia and are celebrated like pop stars. The thunder concert goes through your marrow and bone and puts the crowd in a trance for minutes. In order to prevent accidents, the total daily powder amount of the Mascletà has now been limited to a maximum of 120 kg of flash powder.
The Fallas was canceled 2020 and 2021.
In GE, the crowd of people at Plaça de l'Ajuntament is good to see.
