North Korea has roughly 200,000 prisoners within their expansive prison camp system. While the large concentration camps are the most well-known, the country does have smaller jails as well. The system is also dynamic and sometimes places are decommissioned (most recently Camp 22) and others are expanded or built. This is part of the AccessDPRK Mapping Project. ( Here's a related thread on the project from 2017) This file contains 16 main prisons, 9 smaller sites, and 15 likely prisons that are based on things like defector testimony. For some additional info, here's some AccessDPRK articles: Prison Camp 22 Today (an update on the former prison) and Is North Korea's Prison System Far Larger than Expected?
