I love clouds. Google does not. A number of years ago people often complained that they could not see their house because it was hidden beneath a cloud. Imagery improved and many areas got sampled more frequently resulting in views on cloudless days. As the globe began to fill in with higher resolution imagery, it created a real patchwork look. Google decided the earth needed to look more presentable and so color blending was born. The first results sometimes resulted in clouds and snowfields being decidedly green. But now things are pretty much neatened up. But there is a way to find clouds and that is to go searching with Historical Imagery activated. The bottom image shows the original view in much of its patchwork splendor, sometimes including clouds.
