Note: This post was made in old F&G/GEC on March 29 with only two answers. I am reposting it here. JL and Geroges had already answered there but they are free to answer here again. [Click on image for larger view] GSV Please

I am confused. Still am, also in the oGec. I cannot reproduce the text from your OP. In "West" I cannot find fish against the sunshine. I can in "East" but didn't find your red herring yet.

I can in "East" but didn't find your red herring yet. as you know it, it's an orange dot and, if i do well remember, there were even 3 of them! (even if i was still banned, i solved some of the oGEC puzzles) and, right now, in the nGM, i can see only 2 orange dots, not 3! (when i can see them because nGM and oGM are pretty erratic at the moment, you see it, you do not see it, you see it...) the solution: use nGM, find an orange dot and go for it, in the boxes at the bottom of the screen ("show imagery") you can find the "fish against the sunshine"

It is not I repeat not an orange dot. It is a blue blob in the middle of ocean! I use the classic Google Map. Will post an image shortly in the meantime have a look at this image. Also don't forget to discount the red herring in the original image; Here are the blue blobs. The answer can be found in one of these! Clarification:In the Classic Google Maps the location is shown as blue blob while in the New Google Maps I couldn't see any blob neither orange nor blue. Howver in the description it says "Inside View" which is synonymous with "Orange Dot". See image below;

Finally, thanks to the map. How did you find it, with that name on that place?

well, i agree, it's complicate
from high in the sky, you see blue paths
closer you see orange dots and no more paths
for weeks now, GE, oGM and nGM have shown a lot of problems, bad bad bad

How did you find it, with that name on that place? Serendipity had brought me to this location. The name of that place shown in the image is the real "Red Herring" and this is a hint for others. Another clue; Located in a different ocean than in the Red Herring text location.

This is a tough one. It would appear I am in the right area, but wrong orange dot. Also, the GPS of the given orange dots here abouts are a bit out, (would you believe, VERY WRONG)! As plotted it is no where near the Galapagos Islands, and here are the screen shots for to of the other orange dots! And to top it off, when I select one of the other orange dots, the first one disappears. One orange dot gives a black screen, the other two orange dots are "tests". There is NO BLUE dot that I can find.

There is NO BLUE dot that I can find. Oz try the Classic Google Maps. As I have shown earlier it is blue dots in Classic Maps. Try a different Ocean You are in wrong Ocean. See my hint in the spoiler posted earlier. Also the actual Red Herring is the Text in the Original Image. You have to ignore that location.

G'day CJM, It beats me. With Classic GM, and I still do not get a blue dot. I must be holding my mouth the wrong way! I'll try another browser (or three), and report back.

But still no blue dots, even at the above site! My fault Oz I was in hurry and should have written Blue blob and not dot! I am happy that you have have found it. Hint for others; Make sure you are in the Pool and not in the ocean beyond the Pool. I have tested in Chrome, IE, Opera 12, Opera Next and I found blue blobs in all the browsers.

Well found all. The actual Red Herring in the post is the text in GSV which reads; "Champion East, Floreana, Galapagos Islands"
The GSV is no where in the Galapagos Island in the Pacific. It is rather in the Atlantic Ocean GSV can be seen in this link. Strangely new Google Maps is sometimes labelling it as Street View. (See image below) (Click on image for larger view)
