Near Coonabarabran, Western Australia, is the Siding Spring Observatory. Its large dome of 37 m forms the central point for a huge planetary model. The dome diameter of the observatory sets the scale of 1: 38,000,000 as the sun. Pluto, which is here still thought of as planet, is therefore about 200 km away from the observatory and is only 5 cm in diameter. The whole is laid out as a road access system, so there are several routes to approach the observatory. Therefore also several planetary locations, depending on the route. The distance is measured not in direct line from the sun but by the road kilometer. From Pluto it takes about 2 hours by car to get to the observatory and about 3 minutes from the earth. The planets are to see more or less well on big signs beside the roads. Some of them can also be found with different image quality in Street View.
