Street View_Located at the driveway exit to Sylvan Oaks Public Library, Citrus Heights, Auburn Blvd. The lower portion of this Giant Sequoia is obscured by smaller trees, not optimal conditions for the largest living thing as to available sunlight and sufficient water supply. Lack of sufficient water supply is already evident in the brown tip of the tree. The species is easy to recognize and identify, even from a distance, once you learn to, by the backlighting of their symetrical branching. There are several others of this species around Citrus Heights. The two tall trees on the right are related Sequoia sempervirens. Coast Redwood, tallest living thing. To the right of the frame is a small grove of mature native oaks.
