At the Ashikaga Flower Park you will find one of the most beautiful giant wisterias in the world. Located about 100 km outside of Tokyo in Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture, the park features a number of incredible flower tunnels and garden displays but the wisteria is the main attraction.
The large tree is over 100 years old and its branches are supported to create a huge umbrella of flowers. While the park is open year round, the price of admission varies greatly depending on the season and when the flowers are in bloom (300 – 1700 yen). You can find visiting hours, prices and events here.
According to Japan-Guide, the wisteria at Ashikaga Flower Park are usually in full bloom in the beginning of May, one to two weeks later than the wisteria of Tokyo. As the park has become incredibly popular for wisteria be advised that crowds can be huge during peak season.
