WashingtonSleepingAround.kmz (31.95 KB) In celebration of President's Day ,a holiday every February, it may be appropriate to take a look at some of the many places where our first President, George Washington , is thought to have slept. Quote: "Now, as some of you know, up and down our east coast a sizable number of old inns and taverns bear plaques reading "George Washington slept here." If George Washington had actually slept in all the buildings with such signs, he'd have been the most horizontal man in American history. Some hoteliers will do just about anything to attract business. Most of the placemarks herein are referenced by the University of Virginia from research in Washington's personal papers.
Be sure to visit the place where Washington first slept--recently unearthed by Hill in this post!
