Hi, I'm a planner for Harris County in Houston, Texas. I am a GIS professional too. I've always loved Google Earth, and have used it as a quick source for mapping that supports such things as federal project environmental review. Well, today our Economic Development people asked for an easy-to-use application to find out whether a site is located on fully-annexed land in a municipality, land that has been special-purpose partially annexed (limited annnexation), or on fully unincorporated land either within an "extraterritorial jurisdiction" (ETJ) of a municipality in which case it could in the future be annexed, or outside of all cities' ETJ in which case it will remain unincorporated land for the foreseeable future. So I thought I'd post the resulting layers to the community and share it publicly. Anyway, Hi!
