Hi there,
I'm a civil engineer specialising in flood modelling. I am able to create an animation of a flood (.KMZ), and upload it to GE no problem.
Is it possible to upload a My Places project and data to a GE server location, so that I can save or store a My Places project (in a GE cloud??), then simply send a link to this to a client?
I want to avoid having to email large files or store stuff in Dropbox, and need a solution where my client does not need to setup data layers in My Places. I'd put all the time and effort into setting up a project, then simply send the link via email.
Also, is it possible to set up such places so that they are private (if data is sensitive), where a password is needed for example to access the Project?
Hope this makes sense.
Kind regards, Paul. paul.o@hydralinc.com

Hi Paul, welcome to the GEC. There's a few ways you can share your files, One way is to create a post here on the GEC and attach your file for public viewing, and also be able to send a link to the post to who ever you choose. You could also use Google Drive to store , save, and send files to specific people. You could also use Google Maps to store, save and send your files to specific people.. If you run your own website, you could also embed your files there for your site visitors to open. I think that will give you enough possibilities to check out. Cheers and good luck with your venture.
