In the Wikipedia article about Samuel Beckett it says, “Beckett bought some land in 1953 near a hamlet around 60 kilometres (40 mi) northeast of Paris and built a cottage for himself with the help of some locals.” My reaction was: I smell a puzzle.

The answer: The house is located between the hamlet of Molien and the village of Ussy-sur-Marne, on a road which is helpfully named Rue Samuel Beckett. Born in Ireland, Beckett wrote much of his work in French.
