The Redwood Tree Service Station in Ukiah (CA) was made from a 1,500 year old tree selected from the forests near the town. The tree was 250 feet high and 81 feet in circumference at the base when it was chopped down in 1936. It was painstakingly quartered, transported and reassembled. Done was the Sequoia gas station. Two smaller tree sections behind became restrooms. The station, nicknamed "The Stump", deals no longer gasoline. It's now a little museum and solds as a touristic magnet postcards and souvenirs. Attachments:Redwood.kmz (793 B)
