Street View: Dawn Redwood (Metasequoia glyptostroboides) in dormant stage at Redwood City Hall, Redwood City, California. The species was discovered in central China in 1940 and seeds first ditributed around the world in 1948. The tree to its right is Sequoia sempervirens. Coast Redwood, the species the city was named for.
