computer crash saved by google earth

All of a sudden my clicking on the icon for the internet wouldnt work. The cursor would fade away. after several hours of aggrivation, I opened google earth (which is loaded with links), found a random link to panaramio in photo, and it opened the internet. Then I re-installed chrome. That fixed it!
