Popular culture often refers to earth as a rock. Jimi Hendrix's guitar instrumental 'Third Stone From The Sun', a 1990's TV sitcom titled 'Third Rock', and famed neuroscientist, psychoanalyst, psychonaut, philosopher, writer and inventor Dr John C. Lilly, called earth a mudball. But the earth is far more complex and dynamic than a rock. A rock is typically uniform of substance and displays little or no activity. Earth is round and its crust has volcanic activity, geysers, and mineral veins. together these features form a complex layer of mixed geomorphology, geology, and topography. A thin layer of water has its own complex dynamics. The earth itself as an object extends beyond its surface, holding an atmosphere by gravity. A megnetic field, generated by earths core, extends far beyond the atmosphere. And somehow over billions of years life evolved on earth and vegetation carpeted the landmasses. Out of life came intelligence. Earth is not a rock

yep! knew that it is not just an automatism and things goes different than it were on old forums, also that SC2006 had already proven his qualities by using GE. whoa! hmm.. until some better I think to stay by the good, old-fashioned 'Cartographer'. I remember what proud I was been many years ago on the old bbs. forum, when first got this honorific nomination. so now, -if mod approves- my custom title can be anything I want. hmm.. will think on it... thanks made this clear! cu, g

I had over 5000 posts on the ogec and i was titled explorer. I destroyed 40 years of research notes on natural history because I believed my posts would remain on google earth forever. Later: I found that most of my old placemarks are still on g/e, so i'm good.
